well i went to start my motor for the first time..
starter and everythign turn over, but engine wont fire..

we did a compression check and it read 0... is it to do with my timing??

anyone ?

huh??

whats your idea of a compression test? It doesn't go from running one day and then zero compression the next. You either did the test wrong or the tester is broken. Timing has nothing to do with a compression test.

its the first time the motor has been turned over just freshly built..

the problem was with the timing, the cams were set properly, but everything is good now...

that would of helped. I thought it was a 13 y/o motor and you meant your ignition timing was off. glad u figured it out

hahaha cam timing will cause zero compression like that. ie. leaving the valves open during the compression stroke TDC event.

I imagine even wrong valve lash could do the same

ya cam timing was off, valves were open... i have learned alot from this engine
