Nitrous Question

Posting for a buddy

Hey guys, i know its not a honda but the guys at TO protege are useless when it comes to this kinda info,

the car is a 1999 protege with a 1.8L 125 k, im looking to run nitrous and not sure whether a dry or wet kit is better suited for the motor, any complications id have with either set up ? any suggestions ?

well how big of a shot do you plan on running?
What mods, if any, are done to your car?
A dry kit is good b/c its very simple, but a wet kit is good b/c a wet kit injects n20 and gas at the same time.
I wouldn't go with more than a 75 shot on a dry kit.

looking for a 35 to 50 shot and ive heard dry is no good because of the mass air flow sensor, car has a cold air intake and exhaust right now

well since i don't really know anything about mazda's or mass air flow sensors (seeing as my car doesn't have one) i don't know what to tell you.
I would imagine the mass air flow sensor is downstream of the throttle body a bit, so just put the nozzle after the MAF sensor.
Well i don't see why a dry kit would differ from a wet kit in your case. The only difference between a dry kit and a wet kit is that a wet kit sprays n20 and gas at the same time, while a dry kit just sprays n20.
Can you explain in more detail why a dry kit is no good b/c of the mass air flow sensor?

wet shot is better than dry shot for safest install with minimal complications. remember, the protege ECU is pretty finicky, so see if anyone has done nitrous with success. I'm sure at some of the other hardcore boards for protege's you'll find something.

1.8 bp is a strong bottom end, get a wet kit and dont' get retarded with jet's and you will be fine
