imported_gatherer 07-Aug-2003 09:06 PM

well what has to be done is dependent on the kit you get ...

but if your not mechanically inclined I'd recommend an afiliate shop to do it for you ....

JDM_rcbh 07-Aug-2003 09:13 PM

get a good fuel pump (mabe a 255LPH walbro), FPR, bigger injectors and some non projected type pluggs, 65 Dry shot will be safe, 75 shot somewhat pushing it...

stock fuel system, non projected type pluggs, 94+ octane fuel... 50 shot no more, no worries...

zex is the safest, best bang for your buck...run a 50 shot, then when you upgrade your fuel system, put in the 65, or 75 shot jets..

and realistically a 50 shot probably wont beat a prelude(never know tho, till you race)...but ull go a hell of allot faster than you did before

I heard that ZEX is the worst and to go with NX or NOS. Whats the diff?

:richslap:

well I guess you were given some bad advice, no problem...Heres mine for whatever its worth:confused:

It took me over a year before I decided on the right kit for a civic...Ive read, talked about with experianced profesionals, researched all the kits...when it comes down to it, if you are inexperianced with nitrous and plann on not blowing up your engine, buy a zex kit... Zex has all of the solaniods, fpr, trigger, everything in a compact little box. Its literally plug and play, only an idiot would blow up an engine with this kit, its compleatly foolproof.. It also gives the best and most consistant spray/mixture out of all the dry kits because the computer uses the bottle pressure to make the right mixture... Another key benifit is the TPS activation switch, (flip the toggle switch and as soon as you hit wide open throttle, the TPS sends a signal to the computer, and it sprays...no buttons to fumble with and no chance of spraying while at low throttle...

All the import bolt on kits provide the same horsepower jets, what it comes down to is ease of installation, motor safety, driver safety, and efficiancy..Zex kits provide the best in all these..

Now if you have a huge build up, all the internals done, and heavy duty fuel system, turbo.... then you will be able to handle large amounts of nitrous (wet kit/ direct port preferably), that zex cannot provide, and NOS can. But lets be real here most of our cars cannot handle more than a 50 shot, so why buy something thats costs lots of money to install, and needs constant attention/experiance and tuning to get a safe spray...

Im just scratching the surface here...it would take all day to explain the basics of nitrous, and what engine upgrades are required for defferent levels of nitrous, and how to choose the right kit/jets/fuel flow/ ignition timing/plugg temp range/ ...there are lots of reviews and comparisons of all the kits online, check some out...

But hey I guess some people dont like purple?? :notfair:

I have used it on my acura before and loved teh feeling...i had a 75 shot on it and it handled it but was only on for about 20 shots...zex is the best and i have never heard of one unsatisfied person yet that has used it..

easy...safe...more hp what more could you ask for

and it looks cool

Zexhuffer:bling:

imported_BoOsTd 08-Aug-2003 08:15 PM

my next upgrades are a fuel pump injectors, FPR (even tho zex provides this under spray)...then on goes the 65 shot jets one bottle, then 75 shots, if my pluggs look good under 65 shot jets...

dingus8 11-Aug-2003 12:39 AM

haha or you coudl jsut get a wet kit and spray a 75 shot and spend the saved money on a msd digital 6 then mayeb you coudl spray a 100 shto if your feelign lucky..zex kti is good for a basic 55 shot kit ...if you want to spray a bigger shot go with a wet kti cause it sprays the fuel with the n2o....get a nos wet kit or an nx spray a 50 shot which is WHP not like zex claimed crank hp...you will need a clucth to so save up for a act hd or extrme PP with street disc

imported_BoOsTd 11-Aug-2003 05:13 AM

wet kits are way more expensive, installation is twice as complicated, and you still need to upgrade your fuel system.. 100 shot will ruin your car, unless its preared...
