Nissan 300zx turbo swap question
I have access to a older nissan 300zx. I believe its an 88-89 maybe. The motor was recently rebuilt and the turbo replaced. The car is rotted to hell, and is likely going to a scrap yard shortly. My question is would the turbo set up be of any use to my 95 civic d15, or is it a waste of time even thinking it.

I used to have one of these cars.... instead of taking her to the scrapyard, pick up a spare southern shell from the states and build on it. They are great cars!!
as for the turbo on your Civic - well, it's not just the turbo you need.... turbo is usually only 25% of the cost - the rest of the **** all adds up too.

he's asking if the single turbo off the 3 liter V6 motor from Nissan (I think it's a VQ30DET motor) would flow well with a Civic motor of half the displacement.
By that sentence alone, if you are at all inclined towards home-turbo work, you should know NOT to do it.
The T25 turbos from the twin turbo 300ZX are much better suited for a 1.5L.
For a street driven car I'd look for a turbo off something only minutely bigger than the motor I'm doing... for a 1.5L like yours I'd look for a 1.8T Golf or Jetta turbo, or a mitsubishi 14b.... something with a displacement of under 2 liters. The single 300ZX turbo is better suited for a B-series.

teh older 300zx's had small t3 turbo's that had a .42 a/r...they were pretty small so it would be fien for your motor...a t25 is pretty small even for a d15.. get yourself a std manifold and soem dsm injecorts with a afc adn a intercooler and you will have the basic parts...becoem a member hear if you really want to do it www.homemadeturbo.com

So your basically saying it could be done as most things can be, just depends on the amount of coin. But on the big scale of things it wouldn't be a highly favored addition to my car. And would i most likely be digging myself into a hole that i would soon regret....
