New Motor

I just came across a guy selling a motor out of a 2000 cx, no ps or ac. Im pretty sure its a straight drop in but just wanted to make sure so i wont run into problems during the installation. The new motor has only 13 000kms on it (i know it does sound a bit unbelievable) and hes asking 1000 obo, comes with axles, tranny and full exhaust. If i also do a compression test what kind of compression should i be expecting? Any advice welcome

that D series will drop right in, but you will have some wiring to do in order to make the OBD2 sensors co-operate with the OBD1 ECU, or simply upgrade to OBD2 by adding a few wires.

just look for even numbers across the board for compression - every gauge will read slightly differently.

OBD2b wiring was implemented in the 2001 model year for the engine. The diff in wiring for the 96-98 and 99-00 models is in the heater control panel, which doesn't even affect him.

actually I do read repair manuals for fun... I don't buy magazines anymore cuz I'd rather read repair manuals instead of having my head filled with marketing bullshit.

*Note to self, starting reading repair manuals..

I can't stand most auto magazine either.. All a marketing scam to spazz your brain out.. Like seeing a 700HP H22 Turbo civic.. I was omg, I gotta do that!! Only thing they don't tell you is that it'll take like $$$$$$ to get there. bastards..
