ummm pending you dont over rev your motor you should be fine.... when you run the sohc vtec ecu it will allow you to rev maybe 100 rpm more.... which will make your bottum end go kaboom...

kinda like what matt recently did LOL

it will provide more power throughout the power band... mostly on the top end though cause of the vtec cam lobes

you will need a sohc vtec head and 92-95 sohc vtec ecu...then convert it to obd1 (wireing will be a slight bitch for an amature)

you shoudl be fine all the d series bottom ends are the same its' nto liek the si bottom is stronger it has the same rods...yoru compression will be boosted to into the low 10:0's so maybe a fpr to get alittle for fuel into the cylinders....or a vafc to tune it good...

Si rods are not the same as on a cx motor both d series i've seen them both and they are not the same.... a 1.5L cx motor can not handle being reved to 7500 or 7800 depending on which ecu your using....

there is a reason why honda has the red line at 6500 on the crx Si's..... its cause it can't handle being rev'd higher.... putting on a d6 or y8 head will allow the motor to rev to 7500 which pushes it far beyond what it can handle

Rick, 7500 will not ruin Mikes motor, I reved the crap out of my zc sohc, same motor inhence,

I also had an integra ecu on seans black crx, and reved it too 7800 rpms..

the reason my motor blew is #1 because the bottom end was an automatic, and I removed the revlimiter, and it died about 8300-8500 rpms

usually you can go about 300 rpms - 500 rpms higher than stock cuttoff.

btw, Mike If you go with vtec, you dont NEED to wire OBD1 ...
its a pain in the ***.

just get a pw0, or pr3, or use a "chipped for vtec" ecu..

that way it plugs in and can utilize VTEC with 1 more wire depending..instead of a "conversion - harness"

handa put rev limiters in there cars for a reason....

bumping the redline of a car by 1000 rpm is not a good thing to do
