New Exhaust

i got my b16 about 2 weeks ago but i notice its not breathing properly with my stock si exhaust. ive been doing some research and price checks on some cat backs! im going for the apexi ws2, i like the 3.5 rolled tip and that its not to loud. im looking for a high flow cat now to. im thinking magnaflow. how much gains can i look at with this new exhaust on my stock header. next will be a header, was leaning towards the dc but not after doing some reasearch. any help would be appreciated. thanks guys!

i got quoted at 800 for a custom exhaust, cant afford that! the apexi bolt on will run me 400 plus a high flow cat. the WS2 is 2.25 piping so its what im looking for, plus its quiet. whats a good cheap high flow cat?

most high flow cats are under $100... Magnaflow, Vibrant, etc try asking around for more prices and try the classifieds. Someone might be selling a whole setup, that's how I got mine

Where are you getting your apexi exhaust for 400? That sounds pretty cheap. I just got mine this past weekend and I am loving it.

i got my vibrant hi flow cat for around $100 if i remember correctly.
Don't expect to gain a whole lot just by adding an exhaust, you will feel a noticable difference with I/H/E, but not just with one of the 3. But it is definately a start, and u gotta start somewhere right.
Definately stay away from a DC header, my ceramic one rotted out in under a year. I'm now using a Vibrant 4-2-1 j-spec w/2.5" collector and its WAY better than the DC 4-1 i was using prior. The quality and fit and finish is much better on the vibrant peice, and it only cost me about $400 brand new. Not to mention the definate power gains i saw from the vibrant, but my engine is pretty heavily modded.

Who is shipping to your house, and do you know if there is going to be another charge on top of the initial charge? If not thats great, but chances are you will be charged something at the door when it arrives.

^^^yup...and it usually depends on price of the parsel, size and weight.
And an exhaust won't come in a little 2lbs box.
I hate stupid brokerage fees (or whatever they call it)...i mean when you pay for shipping what excatly does THAT pay for???
Everyones got their hands in your pocket.

Could easily be more than the $600 amount. You don't know what the chatge is until they tell you it on delivery.

If shipping you best bet is to use USPS, not UPS.

Yep, and when I got mine, the box was too big to fit in the car, had to take everything out and put in the trunk. The whole cat back didn't even use up half the box.

Sorry to burst your bubble but more than likely you will be charged broker fees.

If not, great buy, I am enjoying mine!

they said its 375 shipped to my front door. when i usually buy products of ebay from the states i dont get nailed for brokerage fees but customs. ive got some pretty heavy stuff shipped all the way from cali and the most i paid was an extra $30 to the driver for border fees!

girlfriend = hands in my pockets!!!

I went to NoyBoyz and did a full Customer 7' Dual MagnaFlow Mufflers, 2.25 Stanless Steel Piping with Stanless Steel MagnaFlow Resonator with DC Sports Stainless Steel Headers.

Plus you don't want it too loud you want like a sleeper and you have to becareful for cops n stuff plus i got too many tickets...
Because as soon as cops hear you zoooming by they follow you n ****..

Headers costed me $600
Customer Exhaust NoyzBoyz - $1600
Total -$2200

how much of a difference does a custom exhaust make over a premade magnaflow/apexi/dc sports/etc exhaust on a stock b series motor?

i dont know, personally it seems like the gains are totally minimal (few hp) and the price is through the roof.
i dont see a fully custom exhaust as being worth it at all jsut for a couple extra horses that u wont notice anyways.

but correct me if im wrong cuz i dont know much about engine/performence/etc
