Neuspeed vs. B&M Short Shifter

yeah, it's true... gotta really think about your shifting cuz in high rpm shifts, clutch in all the way... the shift is still quicker than the synchros, so there is usually a scratch, esp 1-2 shift. That 2nd gear synchro sees some abuse... well not in my case, cuz I've only done that once and I've backed off since and I now granny shift.

Ahhh man........ That really doesn't make me wanna get it now. So what would be a proper way to shift with a short shifter. That question goes for anyone...
Would it be just a gentle pull to each gear with the clutch fully de-pressed???
Thanks,

I use B&M race version short shifter on my DX tranny. I don't really shift that fast and since day one, I always shift with clutch all the way down to the floor. The only time it grinds is in reverse but that is just hard for a DX tranny, sometimes, it doesn't go in (even with my OEM shifter). That happened once in a blue moon.
I love the shifter, even shorter than generic short shifters.

Skunk2. I have had mine now for a couple of weeks, and I never miss a shift, or grind gears like I used to when I had my Solo and the OEM shifter before that. Improper shifting techniques kills your tranny, not the shifters. If you are not racing and shifting like crazy, the gears should never grind anyway. Learn to take it easy, and be smooth with your shifts, or just granny shift like bbarbulo.

It is basically the regular shifter 40% faster then OEM, and race version is 54% faster then OEM. Price wise race version being somewhere 250 - 270, and you can expect less from the regular short shifter.
