Need your opinions !

Ok,

These are the things I need to get done to my car:

1) Header bolt broke inside my block, need to get that drilled out and fixed.....

2) Need to get my car tuned. VAFC and everything to gain maximum whp out of it.

3) IACV needs to be cleaned or replaced

4) Valve cover gasket/ cam seal gasket needs to be replaced.

I need a very reputible shop for this that can do all of these or alot of them to save on labour. I will be paying CASH if that makes a difference. Thanks :D

HAPPY: if you have an exhaust leak, fix it. If it still seals fine. Leave it until you need to do something else to the car and get it done together.

2) Need to get my car tuned. VAFC and everything to gain maximum whp out of it.

HAPPY: For one stop VAFC Dyno tuning, as much as it kills me to say it your best bet, other than doing it yourself, is Yoshio over at Japanese Automotive. They have an inhouse dyno and Yoshio is an absolute guru when it comes to VAFC B-series honda tuning. The price may be up, but you may get some nice results.

3) IACV needs to be cleaned or replaced

HAPPY: Get off you lazy ass and do it yourself

4) Valve cover gasket/ cam seal gasket needs to be replaced.

but going to Yoshio, you better show him the money :nods: Else he'll brush you off like dust on the floor.

If R0Y sees this, he can add his story about his friend who had work done by Yoshio.

However, that's not to say Yoshio isn't excellent, but his background is Toyota and I think he's quite loyal to the Toyota layout and tuning, though very knowledgable in Hondas as well :shrugs:

But what do I know, I'm only hearing stories :p

Yoshio is the Best in T.O but like they boys said BEND over

also every builder has blown a motor once in there life so dont think that he is perfect. but with his list of skills from TRD and toyota im willing to bet that he can do anything you want RICER

Gallagher 13-Sep-2003 06:48 PM

how much will I have to bend over ? Am I bending over like $200? or like $500 ?

imported_civic_fan 13-Sep-2003 07:45 PM

except for the VAFC tuning, you can do all of those maintenance things yourself (unless youve got a dyno in your garage :D)...for the broken stud...go to sears and get their stud/bolt removal kit....its less than $50 I think...plus its a godsend...on par with the Snap-On equivalent but like a third of the cost! The other things just require some wrenching!

Gallagher 14-Sep-2003 01:43 AM

the bolt is broken INSIDE the head.....

imported_Torrey 14-Sep-2003 03:48 AM

man
I'm 5min away and I can change the sensor/valve, and do the valve cover gasket **** for you... heck I just changed my balljoint and axle yesturday... I'm learning fast :)

Don't waste your money on easy stuff like that,,, unless you want to?

Gallagher 14-Sep-2003 09:32 AM

no i dont, when do u want to help me ?

imported_civic_fan 14-Sep-2003 12:00 PM

your only choice for the bolt then is to drill it out and then re-tap the hole....its a bitch...if its not leaking, Id say leave it be!

ok, i'm going to go to honda tomorrow to get the valve cover gasket. Is the valve cover gasket for a JDM motor the same as a USDM motor ?

What should I tell the guy what I need ?

Last time I went there, he was fooking clueless cuz I said I have a 2nd gen JDM b16. he was like huh, I was like a SiR motor from japan 2nd generation... he was like HUHHHH. Then I just left. So does anyone have a part number or something ? It would be GREATLY appreciated :D
