Need some help on serious rubbing issue.
Ok, so I went to lower my car 1.5" with Megan Racing springs few days ago, and put in some 17" with 215/45/17 tires.
The passenger's rear wheel rubs ALOT, against the fender.
I can see that it's sort of sticking out a bit and hits the fender, but all 3 other wheels are perfectly fine, even with little bumps and holes.
The right side will rub even on some minor slanted roads, left turns, etc.
I have a camber kit and have alignment done by honda already. It still has the same problem. I went back to the garage where i had it installed and they said it's the wheels that are too big. But I'm not sure if that's really the reason, since all the rest are fine.
So I need some input quick on how to get this fixed asap, because it's driving me insane, and rubbing so much today that i just want to leave the car on the side of the road lol.
Thanks for all the input and info!

well if you have a camber kit, perhaps that wheel could use a lil more camber to clear the fender as it compresses. so you could prolly make it fit, but I still think your tires are too big. what's the stock tire size?

Stock wheel size is 185/70/14.
I checked with hdave and he has 1.7" drop, exact same car and size of tires, but has no problem at all. He told me he even had the car full of people and still wont rub.

Hmm .. I guess I'll give it a try then.
I asked the garage people to do it for me, but they dont want to touch it because i had an alignment, they dont want to ruin it.
They said its the best it can be .. so i guess i should touch it?

u have a 04 civic??215/45/17 tires should be fine with a 1.5 drop....
u should check if the shocks are still good
try adjust the camber or take it out and see if it's any better
hope that helps
btw which body shop did u go to???they let u out with all the rubbing???that's not soo good

should be fine bro
i have exact same dimensions
1.6 drop approx...teins
exact same tire size
had rubbing issues only at front..wheel well..did alignment ..no more rubbing...
since u did all u can do...im not sure..but id go with the camber kit problem.....i dont think u even need a camber kit with that drop...i dont and its fine
others usually say around 2" drop u need camber
tires should be 40...but mine are fine at 45
urs should be fine too especilly at back
one more thing..if u put springs on stocks....one side could of settled in more than the other

ya thats wierd then..no it takes a bit before they settle in
never mind that then
ummm..are u sure its rubbing....
check others things out...like this one guy today who put rims on and tires...but he didnt have it lowered...he thought it was the rotars making so much noice in the back..but it was some link(which i forget the name of) in the back where the bushings are...only one side
thats an example
so check aroun the tires..hoist it up...compare both end sides
other than that..im out of suggestions

Im having the exact same issue, I just got 215/35/18 on my SIR with a 2.25" drop, and the rears are rubbing against the fender. Is there a way I can make the rims tuck into the wheel well, so it doesnt rub anymore ?
