need a short shifter
i wanna grab a short shifter for my crx. can anyone recommend a good place to get em?

teknotik... i think they are like $15... or something.

be careful which one you get, I had one in my EF, it hit the exhaust going into reverse, and it would cause grinding in the tranny in 2nd gear...maybe some brands are better than others, but I went back to stock and am a lot happier...

oh wow i didnt know that. hmm the reason i wanted to get it was because the bushings in my current shifter are worn or seized up. so i figured instead of getting new bushings i'd just grab a whole short shifter with bushings included.. any brands you guys would recommend? or against?

the reason for the vibrating on the exhaust is cause the short shifters in general are longer at the bottom end to produce this shorter throw. and i have never heard of gears grinding when just driving the car?? you had to have been matting it off the line:tsk:
i have had both a short shifter from teknotik and a solo short shifter and used an b&m and really to tell ya the truth i dont notice any difference at all. although i can guarantee that the more expensive ones and name brands are a more stirdy and durable. |
You can also buy a rebuild kit from any Honda dealer that includes all of the necessary pieces to repair your stock shifter to like new condition. I'd also recommend a set of Energy Suspension urethane bushings to replace the original rubber ones. B&M and Solo are good cheaper short shifters to get if you really want one.

b&m best bang for buck
