Need Opinions on tires

MIGHT need a new set of tires tonight. Was quoted $976 (everything included) for Toyo Fz4 and $930 for Pirelli P7000.

Which is the better tire for spring/summer/fall driving? Want something with as little noise as possible and handles well in the rain. These are going to replace my Falken Ziex-502 (205/40/zr17)

This is on a '96 hatch.

I think the FZ4's are crap, but I would think they're better than the P7000's in rain.

I would a little bit more.

Find out what a Yokohamma A520 would cost
Look at Falken Azenis, I don't think you want the 901 dunlops because they are a noisy tire...

Caution ,Toyos wear down FAST

Try a place called Premium Tire (in mississauga on Huronatrio)/.. i dont have the # on me but they are great. they only deal bridgestone , yoko's and pirelli tho.. but they can give good advise on thos brands. usually good prices to. free tire rotation! prices include balancing and install...

well, I would think they're better than the P7000's though. I've never tried the P7000's, but I've tried the P700's, and those aren't too good in the rain.

IMO, FZ4's are one of the worst tires on the market. I would suggest the Toyo T1-S. They are excellent in wet and dry.

Good suggestion Kev. My next tires will probably be the T1-S's. But I would assume they're far more pricier than the FZ4's.

Yeah, they are quite pricey, but well worth the money. I'm using Kumho 712's on the MR2 right now, but I'll switch to the T1-S when they wear out (unless I run an r-compound on the street). I'll be using the T1-S on the Civic. I just got a good deal on them from a supplier in 195/50/15 for $130 each.

That does soung pretty cheap. Would you know how much 205/45/16's would go for? I'm planning on trying those out when I'm done with my Parada's.

OK, I've decided to go with the Kumho 712 for $634 for everything. Can someone enlighten me on these tires? I don't know anythng about them.

Kev (sw20 mr2) how much would 205/40/17 be? If you can hook me up with a better price then $1100 (and change) for all 4 (includes everything; wheels direct) than post here.

I'm getting the Kumho's put on tomorrow but if you can get me a better price for the T1-S then I'll cancel. Need tires ASAP

+1 for Kumho 712

I've only had them about 10,000 km

I'm happy with them, I think they are a good tire for the price, very good in the rain, and have a strong sidewall, confortable quiet ride too, but they aren't as sticky like some of the above mentioned... so far they the tread still looks new though.

2 cents

I can also vouch for the Kumho's. Had them for over a year and they've been great. Excellent in the rain and good in the dry. Great bang for the buck. They are also VERY quiet.

Import Racer,
Sorry, the special was only on 195/50/15 size.

Slvr-Bullet,
The 712's are excellent for the money. Overall, I'd rather have the T1-S, but you can't beat the Kumho's for the money. I have them on my MR2 now.

ParaNORMAL_R,
You need to be more specific on which model of Toyo sucks. IMO, the FZ4's are garbage, but the T1-S is great.

Is that take in, I would be interested in picking up a set as well.

Can you get prices on Falken Azenis in the same size or Dunlop 901?

I'm not sure if he has any left. If you want a set, lemme know asap, and I will check for you. I don't really deal much with tires and wheels anymore. I just got these cause they were a good deal.

Got the Kumho 712's put on yesterday and I must say they are SUPER DUPER Compared to my Falken ZE-502's these are much quieter and are VERY smooth when driving. But it could also be the fact that the old tires were wearing unevenly causing the harsh noise and feel.

Anyway, I will see how these handle in the rain (if it rains). That's the true test.
