silly rabbit... you need BOTH!

you need big brakes to go with big power, so I'd do brakes first.

Sassafrass 12-Mar-2004 10:07 AM

ya but u dont need a ****in 5 bolt conversion for better braking
Of course you dont need it, but then again I dont need turbo either.......

The reasoning behind the 5 bolt is because a) My rear drums are shot b) provides e-brake cable which I am missing c) Wheel bearing replacement which I need d) One of the best OEM setups e) I get rims (which are my favorite out of any rim, OEM or aftermarket

Normally I would do braking first but this turbo kit I found is perfect for me and pretty affordable

Nova_Dust 12-Mar-2004 10:23 AM

If you like turbo, then go for it. If you can't do both at the same time, well you gotta pick one. It can't be that confusing eh? lol

My route is Suspension --> Rim ---> Breaks upgrade (most likely 4 bolts) ---> then engine upgrade. One item per year.

I put rims over break because if I get break first, they won't clear 14" steelies. I get lighter rims which will also help breaking somewhat.

I am pretty happy with the way my car is heading, nothing too crazy, just plain and simple.

:dito: That'z a good way of lookin at it

imported_loudsubz 12-Mar-2004 08:20 PM

haha some of these points made are beyond .....

so if i get a 5 bolt my car will automatically be stollenn... yehhh unmmm ok..

if it was an ITR id be a little more worried, but if your car is not super attractive to the thieves eye you should be fine...

Sleekef 13-Mar-2004 12:35 PM

Suspension and braking before horsepower.

shlammed 13-Mar-2004 02:51 PM

u need big brakes to go with big power but just because he gets a turbo that doesnt mean he has to start driving 200km/hr...why not just do a rear disc conversion and get bigger rotors

Sassafrass 13-Mar-2004 05:45 PM

I would liek to thank eveyrone for there thoughts, I have decided on turbo right now, because mainly the deal I can get at this time.

NICE! I can guarantee you won't regret that purchase.

Unless u install it wrong and blow up your motor by overboosting lol.

imported_empowerd 14-Mar-2004 11:06 AM

boost fo'sure!!

n1_taboo 14-Mar-2004 12:37 PM

5bolt aint that much bigger than a GSR setup, + a lot less heat, and less money wasted...second, well theifs dont look at the car, they look at what u have,....and 5bolt is the first sign.....so i say...just boost man, + my bro had 5bolt and it aint make much of a diffrence than a gs-r setup...

WNT_2_Go_Fast 14-Mar-2004 01:51 PM

well if you are planning on doing the Turbo RIGHT the first time they arn't even close in pricing.

$2000 Give or Take a few hundred for 5 bolt

$4000-6000 Turbo DONE RIGHT.

This might help a Bit.

LATES RICH

Yeah thats what im saying. This turbo kit is very inexpensive. Whats the condition of the turbo, piping, intercooler...etc?If u want this to run right and not blowup on u your gonna need atleast another $2000 for a good engine managment system & tunning, this kit sounds like its gonna come with an fmu.

Trust me, it may sound awesome to have a blowoff valve and front mount intercooler, but i bet u your not gonna appreicate much when your pistons rings are gone or your clyinder wall is cracked or who knows what else could go wrong, then your gonna have to spend a ton more money on a rebuild.

Your prolly right, but I never mentioned how much the turbo kit was or exactly what it came with, so I dont know how you guys are able to draw these conclusions.

I know what I'm doing, and I have very knowledgable people helping me with install/tunning etc.... so I'll be fine you dont have to be worried about me
