need help with zc swap asap

need help with zc swap asap

im swaping a dohc zc into a 88 crx si and one plug doesnt fit small silver box in the top right hand corner my crx has a square plug and the box has a circle any ideas? will post pics in a miniute...

ok now iv noticed a whole bunch of wires dont fit im not sure how thats possible as this motor did just come out of a 90 civic hatchback wirering should be the same? any recomendations? remove the harness from the old (d16a6) and put it on the dohc???? anyhelp is appretiated....very confussed...thanks...

that metal box is called the resistor box.
anyways here try out these links here maybe you can find some helpful stuff there.

there should only be the green square plug on the resistor box.
and the square plug and circle plug on the harness. the square goes to the square and the circle to the other part of the harness.

what harness do you have? ZC or civic? if civic si or dx converted(made to si)?

IT CAME OUT OF my freinds 90 CIVIC si.... so i think its an si. harness/??and its went in to my bro,s 88 crx si. so it all should fit..plug and play.,,.no????...............need,,,, help.......pls,, help,,,

did you do any research before hand?
i think there is a plug or 2 to swap or something.
but its si to zc so its already MPFI.

simple solution is to swap the plugs.

each injector pulse wire runs through the resistor box and back to the injectors. Only OBD-0 injectors do this because they are low-impedance injectors.

If you would like I can come to your location and do the wiring for you. Either that or you can tow it to me shop and i'll do it.

FYI, im a licensed mechanic so I can guarantee & warranty all my work.

wanna get this done on the weekend but i need more info...iv been car-less for a week driving the parents van is not fun lol if i swap the whole wiring harness off my old motor (d16a6) will it work??? anymore help is very much appreciated

if you knew how to trouble shoot and use search on the internet you woulda had it done by now.

well i dont wanna goto all the work of doing somthing like take my old harness off and putting it on this motor too find out it doesnt work...

You use the harness off the motor that was in the car.

Then you have to repin the distributor wires the 2 green wires in the si dizzy plug will now go to the cam angle sensor.

Might be some other stuff but it's been a while since I played with a dohc zc



Should have just kept the sohc

ok i put my old wireing harness on the ZC all is hooked up all i need is too know how too repin the dizzy does anyone have details hopfully with pics is best...
