Need Help W/ecu

Ok guys...I'm curently runing my stock 92CIVIC CX ECU on my si motor. I tryed changing my ECu but it showed me the engine light..whats up with that..

Which ecu did you try changing to?

Sorry guys..I had tow rite this fast cause I was at work....Anyhow I changed it to the 93 sivic si ECU...But the engin light came on..SO I changed it back to the stock cx ecu..

What year Si motor? (ie. D16Z6 or D16Y8)

Maybe it's because your engine isn't wired up for vtec yet.. Who did your install? Did they wire it up? Maybe that's why it's throwing a code.. check the codes to see what it says.

Did you get things like VTEC solenoid, VTEC oil pressure, and knock sensor installed?

D16z6 doesn't come with knock sensor.. So that's out of the question.

Interesting.. I assumed all VTEC motors did... all the more reason to stay away from Dseries. Do the Y8's have a knock sensor?

Aight guys I'll check the the codes tonight. I'm not sure if it was wired for the Vtec. Anyhow I'll look into it..And its a 96 si motor w/94 ECU ...Thanks for the help

That would be a d16y8 motor.
