need help with stock exhaust
ok so i needed to change my exhaust pipe (between the muffler and the cat) so i went to ct and picked one up there for my car which is a 91 civic hb si, the previous owner of the car had the exhaust put in at ct which is supposed to be the stock exhaust for that car...
i got pipe in and connected to the cat, but it wont connect to the muffler. its about an inch (give or take) too short. also, the end of the pipe has the flange and then extends about an inch past the flange... (i'll try and get a pic to post...) anyone know, do i have the wrong pipe, or wrong muffler in there?? everywhere i've looked on the net, a muffler for an ef si has 2 exhaust tips, mine only has one.... any help would be greatly appreciated... |
heres pics...

return it.
Your first mistake was going to c/t for your exhaust pieces. We try to get as close to OE as possible.. but we are never exact. Clean it up, take it back. Go to a wreckers and pick up an exhaust or look for a used one for sale |
canadian tire just sucks, i made the mistake of paying them to install a deck for me, i took my old deck out so all they had to do was souder some wires for the harness.
I got in the car and it didnt even work plus my interior pannels were still on the floor. Anyways dotn want to explain anymore details but ct sucks, i refuse to even buy washer fluid from them. |

yeah im a retard for goin there, but the reason was because the exhaust was installed there (previous owner), so im thinkin that they probably installed a dx exhaust system on it (if it is any different...) and thats why the si pipe wont connect to the muffler, but i don't wanna spend the dough on a new muffler right now, so i guess my best bet is to return pipe, and i'll bring the old one with me when i look for a new one...

i guess my question is; is there a difference between the si and dx (or any other trim) exhaust systems? and is that maybe the reason the exhaust pipe isn't connecting to the muffler?
