need help: quiet exhaust system?
my OEM exhaust needs replacement (it sound like a very nasty fart can!)
I already have the header and need everything else to the back. I've done some research for thread discussing quiet exhaust systems (dseries, hondatech, and here). So far I've heard that the following 3 are quiet APEX WS2 RSR EXMAG MAGNAFLOWS the problem is, I've spoken to other people about these same exhaust (1 of my buddies owns his own garage and the other actually has show cars) and they all have different opinions on how loud it is? For example my buddy who owns the garage says do not get the RSR since it is really loud! I know I'm somewhat asking for a paradox (eg, more power but silent, kinda contradictory) Anyone own a high flow on eg hatch that is silent? I just don't want a loud car. Also, know where I can buy one in GTA? Any information would be greatly appreciated. :shrugs: |
I have RS*R ExMag retrofitted on my 6th gen hatch (that was meant for a 240SX) and it is loud, even with a silencer on. But, I don't have a resonator and maybe it will be somewhat helpful to have one, but I doubt it much.
Below 3000RPM, with silencer, it is bareable. As soon as you rip it pass 5, it is madness. |
I have a APEX WS2 on mine, was put on last week. My old muffler was loud. This catback is real quiet and sounds nice and looks great. Not sure in the GTA where you can get one, but I got mine through Auto Accessory Zone in Whitby. They had to order it from the states.

i have magnaflow cat back exhaust system on my dx, its not as loud as your broken muffler would be, it sounds nice, a deep throaty noise.

if you want it really quiet just make sure you have a good resonator on there to tone it down..

i just put DC headers + DC catback on my 7th gen
looks unbelievable with the lazer etched emblem and is also very silent u can get thes parts ne where performance parts are sold |
thanks everyone
at least I know the WS2 and Magna was accurate |
why did you get rid of the spoon muffler charles?
|
Cause I wanted to try straight pipe (under the gas tank). So I had to let it go.

I've had great success with custom exhausts. I use a high flow cat with a resonator and it stays quiet.
I've always stayed away from the name brand mufflers, found them all to be too loud. A good muffler was a Walker quiet flow. |
