need help installing front & rear bottom tie bars on a 92 hatchback not sway bars
 

sorrie not sway bars..

I recently got 2 tie bars. both front and rear bottom tie bars.
Can anyone help me go through step by step. and with pictures that would be even more helpful on how to install these 2 tie bars. its for a civic 92 hatchback. thanks i'd appreciate it =)

I hope you got new rear LCA's or are you planning on drilling your tiny EG lca's?

front sway bar is tougher to install in the rear. if you didn't get the proper rear lower control arms i'll sell you some integra ones if you want. for the rear its easy, just bolt the brackets onto the subframe and connect the ends to the lower control arms. the front one is harder though. you have to take off the shift linkage and slide it over the cat. you have a vx as well so you'll need front lower control arms. if you bought all integra sway bars. i have a set of front integra control arms with endlinks as well if you want. i'll sell you the whole set :thumbup:. endlinks alone are like 80 bucks from honda. an air gun would make it REAL easy to replace the control arms. the control arms and endlinks are mint if you're interested. they came off an 01 gsr. and DONT drill into your stock lower control arms, just do it the proper way. i recently had sway bars put on the front and back for mine. i put an SI sway bar in the front and just switched out the part that connects to the control arms in the front and replaced rear as well with integras. invest in some polurethane b00shings too while your at it, my mechanic can install them for cheap and your from the same area as me too so it shouldn't be too far from you. your car is a 92 so if you still have stock bushings, they'll need to be replaced.

the front was the easy part for me when i installed my suspension techniques sway bars on my 95 coupe. I didn't have to remove the shift linkage, but i did have to disconnect the header from the cat, i could maneouver the stock bar out and the new one in just fine, just make sure to use lots of grease, my ST kit came with new endlinks and new polyurethane bushings, grease, hardware, and kinda shady instructions.
The rear however was a little more difficult and required drilling holes and cutting and relocating a section of my exhaust and welding it back together.
However it didn't require the use of different lower control arms. All i had to do was rotate the shocks 180 degrees so that the welded nut on the shock was on the other side, it came with 2 little L shaped brackets that secured to the bolts that hold the shocks onto the LCA's, this bracket also is where the endlinks attach to.
The D shaped bracket/bushing that secures the middle of the sway bar to the frame of the car is another story. This is where i had to drill holes, wasn't really a big deal though.
I also had to cut the exhaust where it goes over the lca and rotate it towards the passenger side so it fit around the bar.
But i think it was the biggest bang for the buck in terms of fun factor of my car.
Sway bars make a big difference, especially if you already have a well mated spring/shock combo or true coilovers. When you car has no rear factory sway bar like mine it really helps to stiffen up the rear end. The ST rear bar is the size of the stock front sway bar, and the ST front sway bar is nice and thick.

you have the ST kit, it was meant for your car because you don't need holes to mount your rear bar, it mounts on the corners where it connects with the strut. for some people it may be easier removing shift linkages because their cat can be REAL rusty like mine. your running a 19mm rear bar right? i hope you have some kind of subframe reinforcement, i've seen subframes rip with the ST bar in the rear. it's better to be safe then sorry! we need more info from him like what kind of sway bars and lcas he has. and yes sway bars make a huge difference. at first, i only put on the rear (GSR 14mm bar) and it felt so nice on the on ramps. then i put on a 21mm bar in the front and the car feels much more firm on the front end.

for some reason I have trouble believing you got sway bars. post some pics please.

before ppl jump on my nuts about it, the reason I say that is cuz BOTTOM sway bars????? makes me think he's got lower tie bars.
