need help installing A/F gauge

ok i got an autometer sport comp A/F gauge and need to install it on my 91 civic. it says to tap into the wire from the O2 sensor, but after the harness because the wire before the harness that goes into the header is probubly shielded. anyhow can i just splice the wire and soider the a/f wire in?? will this mess up the reading to the computer?? how shud i do it properly?? any help would be great. thanks.

splice it in about 3" before the pin on the ecu (pin c16...thats the last clip on the right and the bottom last pin on the right)...I just shaved off some wire, twisted the a/f gauge wire into that and taped it up and its perfect

so i shud go towards the ecu then. i was told that i shud go as close as i can to the harness so that the reading to the ecu is not altered. anyone else have any idea's???? thanks for the info CyniKal.

do it at the ECU...the readings are gonna be the same throughout the line...the drop off of voltage is negliable if any the a/f gauge only ready variance between .5volt and 1volt (or somethin small like that)

I have mine wired like I said and it works as perfect as u would expect a narrow band unit to work

u dont need to open the ecu at all...just tap into the wire that goes into the ecu...there are 3 plugs A,B and C u need to tap in to C wire 16 which is the last wire on the bottom right...its super simple man u cant really mess up

actually the reading is from 0volts to 1 volt...

anyways I agree with placement keep it close to the ECUbut not so close that you have an issue with not enough wire from the ECU plug to solder too
