Need help on distributor problem
My 1992 Acura Integra had a japanese dstributor and now it needs a new one. I know this for a fact cause I had my car parked for a couple weeks and then it wont start. I swapped my bros distributor from his 94 teg and she fired up. Is it possible that something else could be causing the distributor to burn out, or was the last distributor just crap. The has 300k by the way.

300K and you think your distributor was crap?? I'd say that's pretty fuggin good for any mechanical part. Also, I noticed when cars sit for a while, the dizzy seems to die out faster, but I have really no idea why or even if it's just coincidence.

No I meant the motor has 300k, but the distributor that died was a japanese one. It was changed b4. I was asking could that distributor be crap or is something making it burn out.

there are generally 2 reasons distributors die... the bearings go out, or the ignitor dies. like most electrical components, why it dies is a function of heat and vibration I think. If the ignitor went out, then it's just one of those things you can't help.

Would a b16a2 distributor fit on my b18a1....Im getting one for $130?
|
no idea... one thing comes to mind though, B16A2 is an OBD2 distributor.

just throw in a new distributer if you know thats the problem, easy way to find out your distributer is 1. anything berfore 1992, the electronic connectors on the distributer are a white or cream colour and both are round. 1992-1996/97 the two connectors are gray, one is square and one is round 1997-up, their is only one connector. it is also gray.
