Hey guys .. im looking for a fast bubble hahah .

I got a 1993 bubble .. and looking at motor swap and turbo project.

have about 15 g;s to spare on this project so im on a buget but prolly shoudlnt effect me that much .

lookign for the h22 or gsr motor and maybe a greddy turbo kit .
so i need the help from the pros on this site. that have the experience with hondas..

I need soem help .. from the basics.
What is the best v-tech motor to turbo, ive herd that the type-r has such high compresion that turboing it might lead to disaster. i liek the idea of a b18 gsr motor, or a h22 . but im not to familiar with the bubles dimentions or engine bay. witch motor is the easiest to swap with minimal madding? what is the best turbo kit to use for these motors? ans what is a safe Psi to run without mayjor work to the motor.
what is a good limited slip diff ?
suspention is important. an ideas for that ?
wheels and tires ?

any other idead or comments would be great

H22A engines do not take well to turbochargers, the ring lands on the pistons are too thin and shatter at around 5 psi.

a GSR turbo would be easy to do, and very quick. the engine bolts right in and turbo kits are very easy to find and install.

that being said, with your budget I would honestly recommend selling the car and buying a used 2002+ WRX - quick as heck and much newer too. I mean, why would you want an old car that's prone to rust if you have the resources ($$$) to spare?

also, given your admitted lack of knowledge, if you had a shop build this car for you - should you ever have a problem down the road, you won't know what to do with yourself.... it's not like a turbo GSR Civic has it's own repair manual... so much stuff is custom, odds are you'd have a really hard time getting anyone to fix it or even accept working on it. Gotta think long term here bro. In most of our cases here, those who have fast Civics, we built them with our own two hands, so if anything goes wrong, I know what to do.

cuz the man wants a civic. go gsr if you want turbo. obviously h22a brings with it a bit more power and some nice torque but it will definitely lead to problems if you go with forced induction. For you to have a reliable h22a turbo you'll have to throw in a lot of money to the piston rings/sleeves to re-enforce them as a lot of the motor is made out of aluminum and cant withstand a lot of power. h22a turbo into a civic will easily run you $10,000. And if the proper upgrades were mad eto the block you're looking at closer to $12,000. GSR is cheaper, more reliable and will be less of a money pit.

$15,000 this is what I would do...

All of the motors can be turbocharged but all of the motors have different issues and they will have to be built. To keep things realistic I would choose the GSR.

As far as the tubo kit do some google searches and find what each dealer offers. Personally I would go the custom route but, hey everyones different.

Others may say different but I wouldn't want to go higher than 7lbs. of boost and perhaps for daily driving I might want to be lower. (stock motor of course)

I would get a Type R tranny and not worry about Kaaz or any of those other companies. Keeping the cost down and hopefully being able to pick up the 4.785.

For the suspension I would get something quality and and adjustable maybe dome Koni's.

Lastly some sticky tires to snap those shafts, :D
