Need Advice On D15 To Zc Swap Or D16y6 For 92 Civic

I HAVE A 92 CIVIC LX. OFCOURSE YOU ALL KNOW IT HAS THAT D15 1.5 LAWNMOWER MOTOR:cry: .I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I CAN BOLT A SINGLE CAM OR TWIN CAM ZC INTO MY D-SERIES TRANNY?.ALSO I'D LIKE TO KNOW IF I'LL HAVE TO CHANGE MY ECU AND IF I'M BETTER OFF GOING WITH A D16Y6 SINGLE CAM V-TECH OR A ZC? I'D APPRECIATE IT IF YOU GUYS CAN RESPOND AND TELL WHAT MOTOR EXACTLY I'LL NEED TO GET IF I'M GETTING A ZC, CAUSE I DON'T KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT THEM....THE POWER SPECS OF THE ZC MOTORS WOULD ALSO BE GOOD....DON'T FORGET IT'S A 92 CIVIC LX

THANKS ALL,
HONDABOI83.

,..

well ur SOHC vtec would bolt right in...

andu would need a new ECU and si cause if u use urs vtec will now engage....

personally i feel the SOHC VTEC isnt anything special no power just like a 1.5

id go with the dohc zc ..that right there will give u more
just cause its dual cam...

if u have the money ...or not ..save some more and grab a DOHC VTEC

then ull feel the diff:)))
good lick dude

first of all i must say its ammusing to see a paid member with 1 post...anyways, a ZC would bolt right in and use your tranny but you would have to get a new ECU and a DOHC has more power then a SOHC ZC...SOHC VTEC SI motors can be built but I'd rather have a DOHC ZC. I dont know what the SOHC ZC puts out but I believe the DOHC is something like 130hp.

the second gen obd1 DOHC zc's are kinda rare but a good find you need this one because of the wiring seeign how yoru car is obd1. It will bolt up to your tranny (any d series will) but the gear ratio's are pretty low killign accelleration....try and get a si tranny possibly a JDM lsd one
