Need Advice

93 CX hatch w/7th gen Si rims. (w/stock firestone 185/65 rubber)

My ride height is too high. I really want to lower but my budget is very very tight.

Can anyone give me advice on the cheapest way to lower?
I'm concerned with the extra suspension work that comes along with lowering.

I know winter is coming so any work would be done in the spring, just I want to get thinking about it now.

Thanks in advance.

If your funds are low, try and find some used springs on the classifed section of this site as well as some of the other sites out there. IMO, I would save your cash, and do your suspension right the first time, instead of doing quick cheap things now and changing things as you get cash.

I will sell you my springs in the spring if you want. Eibach sportlines used for the summer. The car is going up on blocks soon so they wont even be driven in winter. I would like to get around 150 for them. And that is all you need to lower on a budget. DO NOT CUT SPRINGS.

Thanks guys.

Oh and what other suspension components must be upgraded when using springs? How about coilovers? I've heard people say, 'The best thing for your car is a Honda shock' but then I've heard others say that you absolutely cannot drive a lowered car on a stock supsension.

Any insights?

You can drive around on stock shocks but they will wear out quick. I would suggest KYB AGX (when you have the money of course).

I have been riding on my stock shocks all summer and they still feel fine. It all depends on the level of drop you do. The more drop the more trouble. I was only lowered 1.8 in and after i did that i went to get a tire alignment but it was not needed. The guy at the shop told me that the camver was not to bad, and it would be a waste of money to get a camber kit.
So all you need mininal is the springs.

5th gen rides on 185/60/14 or 195/50/15, 7th gen stock tires are too tall.
