Type R's?

imported_BoOsTd 13-Sep-2003 04:44 PM

OH..heh... I just read your CTR thread deciding on them.. Looks like you made your decision... How much did those set you back, if you dont mind me asking??

I really want to hear the outcome after you install them!!

A few numbers on the Butt-dyno :D

ryuujin 13-Sep-2003 04:49 PM

you really should purchase yourself some new valvesprings at least the ITR intake side because you can transfer the B16A intake side to the exhaust side :nods:

then you can at least rev to the limit of the ITR/CTR cam setup you have

red90dx 13-Sep-2003 04:54 PM

i bet those were over $300 a cam from honda!

I was thinking about the valve train mods.........Ryuujin the intake valve springs could work on the exhaust side?

yeah it's actually worth the investment to buy the R valvetrain because if you really wanted to, you could run Skunk2 Stage 1 and various other Stage 1 cams on the R valvetrain as a minimum without fearing spring binding :nods:

Plus, for the amount of money you spent on the cams, the value of the valvesprings is merely insurance for your valvetrain

Yo I an not telling how much I paid for them in the post but know it was a good deal.

Thanx ryuujin on the advice.

dingus8 16-Sep-2003 11:24 PM

good choice....you can run them on the stock valve train but no higher than the stock rev limit which is 8200....the itr train will allow the full 8600 with out floating a valve
