Are you really down on power too??

ahhhh yes.... sounds like good ol' dreaded blow-by came a-knockin on your door for X-mas. He's here, and he ain't goin away. Worse than in-laws

So what's happenin is one of two things - blow-by on the piston rings, OR blow-by the valve seats. Either way, put a fork in your motor, it's done.

Oh, and there prolly isn't enough compression for it to run anymore.

Depending on how bad the blow by is, it can be fixed.....don't stick a fork in just yet. Take it to a mechanic to check first. We can't see or hear the car running for ourselfs, so your best bet would be to take it to someone who can hear it.....ie....a mechanic.

Don't freak out just yet.

I thought you were a good rapper for a sec if you weren't posting for your car.

the correct description would have been: there is a noise coming from my intake tract that corresponds to my intake manifold being pressurized from the compression events. It sounds like a muffled backfire, except it's coming from the intake.

That's something that may actually help a mechanic diagnose your problem.

Maybe a "tooth" or 2 from the belt sheared off.

That's why I said it's mechanic time.

my car did this same thing when the crank pulley's dampener came apart from the pully itself and ate a whole through the lower timing case knocking the belt loose off the tensioner...this sounds exactly like what happened to me...car died, started it back up...no power at all seriously mistimed...got it back to the shop took it apart to see that the timing belt had about 3-4 inches of play in it...got the whole thing taken apart replaced belt, lower timing cover, pulley then put it all back together...started it up and it was good as new!
