ok i have an ef with a b18 motor in it




im going up a hill today and im giveing it 2 her and i get a slight hesetation as i reatch the peak like the little wornings u get wen u are about 2 run out of fuel



as soon is it hesetated i let off the gass and looked at my gass guage its 1/2 full (for shure) guage works


the engin stalled out oil light and batery light comes on like they do wen u stall the car



i couldent hear the fuel pump primeing so i untighteded the fule filter cap and turned the ket and fuel squrted out so i know my pump is fine i pulled a spark plug out sat it on the engin and cranced and it sparked


so i have spark and fuel but it wont run it just turns over and over and over


i dont smell fuel wen its cranking tho and sometimes if i stop cranikung it wil kinda have a backfire






any ideas on what 2 check ???

i was told 2 check the mail relay i have 3efs so i can switch but i looked and couldent see it


i was told its up nr the fues pannel ??



were is it and how can i get it out ?? pix wil be apreciated

ok i was told it could have been the main relay box


i curently own 3 88-91 civics so i can switch parts areound



were is the main relay and how can i get 2 it ???

if it was the main relay you either wont get the cranking over sound or the fuel pump kicking on, and you say both are ok.

personally it is possible that the dizzy may have pooped on ya , the plugs can still produce a minimal spark but if not strong enough it wont fire up.

also if you turn the key to the on position, the check engine light wouldn't light up if the main relay was dead.



find someone with another b18 dizzy and try it see if it'll fire up for you.

yea the check engin light comes on i think every time now u got me thinking i dont think it was on2 times that i tried mmmmm




ok thanks yea the spark looked prety ****ty but i was inside the car cranking it looking through the gab between the hood wen u open it


im going 2 tru new ecu 1st i have spair at my mums place then the dixxy i wil have 2 check on that i think there is 1 at the shop mmm

Possibly the timing belt snapped what dingus888 say or there is too much fuel in the system which is flooding the car. Take the plugs out and use a lighter and light the tip and burn all the fuel away from the plugs.

Its an easy process of elimination, if you cant diagnose the problem best bet is to take it to a shop!
