My 99/EK Civic Got Issues.... LOST ITS POWER & CREAKING NOISE FROM REAR.

Alright well, I have a 99 stock civic. I have got 2 problem that get to me, took it to honda and they never fixed it.. but i am hoping tcc knows more than honda ..lol

Well my problems: Car Lost Power & Creaking noise frm Rear.

1. Car Lost Power:

Well, to start off my car is a all stock 99 civic, always been in for each service to honda.. no one else ever touched it. My car is 7 years old for 6 years the car was running nice and smooth .. suddenly this year.. the seems to have lost it power. ..

When ever i try to accelerate, the rpm goes up .. but it takes a second or two for the speed to react. Also through out my cars years .. the gear always to change at 3k rpm.. but now days it goes up to 4k rpm and grinds.

2. Creakign Noise From Rear:

Okay i have had the car for 7 years .. 3 years ago started noticing some creakign noises frm the back every time i go over a bump.. either a little one or a big one.. over the year the problem has just gotten wrose.. honda said it is "bushings" .. not sure what they are.. but want to askk how much do they cost installed? and can any1 frm tcc do it?

Thankx for al lthe help in advance tcc.. i hope u guys can help me .. cause if not then i plan on gettin rid of the car.. these prblems are just gettin to me.

creaking sound is your trailer arm bushings (most likely) they are common on hondas. A backyard mechanic would do it for max 70$. They aren't hard.

your lose of power sounds like you are burning your clutch. Whens the last time you had your clutch replaced? Sounds like its slipping

For trailer arm bushings im not sure a backyard mech. could do it.. UNLESS they had a press.. those bushings have to be pressed in.

Correct me if im wrong chris.

You can use this tool for the rear trailing arm bushing. http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1456600

Sounds like your clutch is letting go, easy way to test is do approx 60 in 5th gear and step hard onto he gas pedal, if your rpms wise up a couple hundred or more without the car accelerating then your clutch is on its way out.

Either trailing arm bushing or stablizer bushings....not sure until I actually listen to it. Could also be the shock tower upper bushing. And ya, that trailing arm bushing is a biatch if you don't have the tool. Took me 6 hours to replace on a friends car. If you don't have air tools and that tool, you're busted.

does it kick into gear?
when you accelerate does it take a second or two and then kick into motion?

yup eaxctly the problem .. i press my foot on the accelerator.. the rpm goes up but it takes a second or two for the speed to go up ...for example like when speed up the rmp will go from 2k - 4k and for second or two the speed will still remain at 60km .. after the second the speed will start to gradually increase.

drain your transmission fluid into a container and see if you can see metal pieces inside if not add lucas transmission oil stabalizer and atf oil into the transmission and drive around with it for a while and it should fix the problem. however if it doesnt fix itself you should start looking into a new tranny. if your check engine light is not on then i dont think it could be the solenoids but you can always try a diagnostic check just to be sure.
