My '07 Sedan...Gets Crappy Ass Fuel Economy
My 2007 LX Sedan (Auto)...Gets Crappy Ass Fuel Economy!
Mind you, regardless of the season, I still average about 400-450 at the most. (Or is that the average? And I'm ill informed?) I live in Downtown Toronto, so it's mostly stop and go traffic at times. Highway, every so often from time to time. I never rev that high to engage VTEC. My last tune-up was done at 95,xxxkm now at 105,xxxkm I do my own oil changes every 3k-4k I'd rate my driving habits a 7/10 (1 being a granny, 10 being a race car driver) I'm also fairly easy on the brakes too. If I see a yellow or red up ahead, I'll ease off of the gas and just coast. Pressing on the brake ever so gently until I slow down. Also, I do my notice my alignment is slightly off. Pulls to the right a bit. Tire pressure is up to snuff. Trunk is usually empty. All I carry in the trunk is windshield washer fluid and some car cleaning products. Nothing heavy enough to upset the fuel mileage. Any tips or suggestions guys? Thank you in advance. |
It's auto and city driven. And you drive some what aggressively... All that is a recipe for poor fuel economy. lol
Ease off the gas, don't accelerate so hard and it should improve. ;) |
And get your alignment fixed.

Honda oxygen sensors suck. I'd take a good look at them. I've seen them throw codes at 40k, lol.
Poor alignment will reduce fuel efficiency, so will dragging brakes (if you haven't serviced your brakes recently). |
I think that pretty much covers it but that is also about what you should expect from that car when you do a lot of your driving in downtown areas in stop and go. Do take all of the above advice though because it wouldn't hurt to try and improve what you have.
