MSD inline fuel pump
hey guys i just bought a MSD inline pump for my crx soon to be boosted partly because i dont want to go through the hassel of dropping a tank on a old car! Got some questions
Any1 using this kinda pump, and where should i put it? ( b4 the filter?) What would be the best way to pwr it? thanx

OMFJ, return that pump and get an intank pump.
you don't drop the tank silly, you access it through the panel under the rear seat. unless the CRX is diff't for some reason but I doubt it. pull up your rear seat and take a peek at the access panel.
inline pumps are... just more trouble than it's worth.

i have the same pump in my crx, mind you i also have an aluminum fuel cell in the trunk. the stock tank is long gone, although i plan to build one to put it back into the stock location (better for lowering the center of gravity and centering the turning weight in the car). these pumps are extremely loud and will probably drive you nuts after a while. if you do decide to use it make sure you wire it up properly with a relay and a fuse to prevent any damage to the pump itself. it is cheaper to buy a relay or a fuse instead of a new pump.
or, like b said, just get an intank pump.

aarons car is loud as hell, even on the outside. His fuel pump screams, i can hardly hear my 255lph intank, its a little louder when it primes, but other than that i don't hear it at all.

the difference is that weirtech has a fuel cell so he can use that pump. you really shouldn't be using it... it's not really meant for that.
you tap the existing power wire ONLY as a signal wire for the relay, the positive feed for the power needs to come from a fused ignition-hot lead in the fuse panel.
and please explain to me... if you can find the power wire for the pump, how can you not follow that wire to the pump? it's in that sending unit assembly... like under that cover you speak of, there are fuel lines... those fuel lines are fed by the pump... it's gotta be there.

I have an MSD inline fuel pump in my turbo cavalier. It works well for getting tonnes of fuel to the motor, however, I wish I hadn't used it.
It is extremely loud...though that doesn't bother me. I had to remove the stock pump from the tank and put in a check valve in the tank and make up a new pick-up line in the tank so the fuel line wouldn't lose it's prime. You've gotta mount the inline pump as low as possible in the vehicle. These inline pumps are designed to push the fuel, not suck it. If it has to suck the fuel up hill...well...it doesn't like it.
Do yourself a favour. Don't bother messing with an inline unit. Take it back and get an in tank pump. Unless your running a fuel cell, they are more trouble than they are worth. You'll thank us.
And yeah, your pump IS in your tank....right where you were looking there should be a couple of wires going down there....guess what they lead to...

Some1 that has a crx will know what im talkin about,, thanx for the feedback im prolly going to return it and get a walbro intank.

i think there is only 1 specific year that actually has access to the fuel pump from the top (or i could just be on glue). My buddy had to drop his tank when installing his walbro 255lph, his is pretty quiet too, sal you've been in his car with me, do you remember hearing his fuel pump? And his back half is gutted. You can't hear it with all the extra noise from his stupid mounts.
Hey, you could always go GHETTO stylez and cut yourself an access hole...i'm serious, i've seen it done before.

The whole mods list is there and some pics.....Let me warn you;...it's a pretty ghetto setup...but it works! LOL.
