its not that simple. For a "wicked awesome" lsvtec you need to change the pistons, get arp rod bolts, vtec oil and water pump, vtec oil feed line, and a gsr timing belt.

a LS/CRVtec built right would walk on the B18C5.

it depends on how you build it and how you use it.

any engine would only last 50K or less if you constantly beat the **** out of it and don't maintain it. See if you build an engine to make lots of power its likely that you are going to beat on it a lot. And lots of people cut corners when building an lsvtec or crvtec and thats why they don't last that long.
Think about it, using a block that already has 140,000 miles on it not changing any of the internals, not using a vtec oil or water pump and revving it to 8000rpms all day long, how long do you expect it to last?
Talk to the people who've built an ls/crvtec PROPERLY and they will tell you that they last just as long as any other engine.

very true. But you would be getting a freshly rebuild/severly built engine that no one has beat the crap out of or not maintained.
You can pretty much guarantee that any ITR engine out there has been severly beaten on.
