id go with a b16 its a good motor and then if its not good enough later down the road you can upgrade to a ls/vtec or b20 vtec

thats what id do

or just buy the b16 swap and do the ls/vtec right away but its totally up to you it all depends what your lookin for but ive heard some bad things about the ls/vtec that they have internal oil leaks but thats what ive heard not what ive encountered

^^^^ why would you buy a b16 AND do an ls/vtec at the same time?

B20 with a GSR tranny, under $2500 for the swap and you will have tons of fun driving around the city. If your planning on 100% boosting the motor then i would go with a B18B1 or a B18c1.

4000$ isn't enough to do a b18c swap in an ef chassis if you do it right.

my b16 swap done myself with all the replacement parts and hidden costs ended up being about 2900$ and that is for the cheaper b16.

b18 swaps are alot more to start and you need obd harnesses and stuff so i say...

keep your ZC and boost it

-Matt

if you want more info msn me... your on my list for some reason

no buy a b16 swap and then build a b18b bottom end then you have all the parts from the b16 swap and just build the motor

Scratch the H22 off your list..

That motor is very hard to throw into a 4th gen. Requires tranny conversion, wiring conversion, you have to drill out your own mount points, bang frame points, not worth the effort and definitely don't doable with 4000.

Ya I talked to a guy who's buddy has an H22 in his 91. He says there is always clearence issue's. Everytime he gun's it its hitting or rubbing on something . He's cracked his downpipe and his IntakeManifold always smack's his firewall. H22's fit fine in EG's but in EF's its pushing it. I wouldn't recomend it for a daily driver.

go with the b16. For the cost difference in between the gsr and b16, the b16 is the better choice
