Duy, correct me if I'm wrong.......

If you got the ZC SOHC engine, you wouldn't need to do anything really. Just switch most of the parts over to the new engine. Timming belt would be different though. (one more tooth) Taller head I believe.

If you got the carburated version, and took the FI off the 1.5, and put in on the ZC......added a header.....CAI.....bumped the fuel preasure a bit, and an exhaust, you'd have an engine with a bit more horse power than the stock Si.............but you wouldn't have the Vtec. Big deal, those ZC SOHC motors usually came out of the 4WD Civic Ferio, and today I heard that they also came out of a few other cars as well. Those engines usually have more torque too.

I'd rather have more torque. Torque is what you "feel" push you back into the drivers seat. Right JSK?

On a friend's car.......95 HB......ZC SOHC (swaped the carb for a FI one), bumped the fuel PSI from a stock 32/34-------> 36-38. Added a CAI and exhaust. HP at the wheels was around 111HP

That would be around 133HP at the crank.......the stock Si has 125hp. And the cool thing is, the ZC SOHC engine looks almost identical to the 1.5 engine. Even the valve cover, oil cap, and the wires are still in the same place.....not swithed like the SI.

Everyone would still think you had the weak 103 at the crank 1.5 engine.

Oh yeah......between $300-$400 for the engine......you can use your stock tranny and ecu........and most of the old parts from the old 1.5 engine.....even the engine mounts.

he would need to get an OBDI SOHC ZC for easier install, but otherwise everything you said is right. The stock ecu would work but I would try to get the right ecu for it if it were available from the supplier.
