Minor Lowering with Coilovers+Stock Shocks

I'm thinking about getting a ek sedan, with 14's or 15's...im not worried bout rub or anything, but i wana lower it just a little..cause i still gota use the car for work, etc...and i dont wana have to be careful with every driveway....

if i have good working stock shocks...which are somewhere from 96 to 00..so not that old, could i just get like the tom sport coilovers....and lower it like an inch for the summer....and not have a crazy out of control bouncy ride? would it feel ALMOST stock?

and then in the winter..if i raise it all the way back up to 4 inches....then will it feel as good on coilovers and stock shocks as it would if it was COMPLETELY stock? or near?

if anyone has done 1 inch lowering jobs with coilovers...that didnt cost to much let me know..thanks

i have those coilovers and wouldn't recommend using them with stock shocks at any ride height

that right there tells me you need a STOCK car period!!! esp if you use the car for work. modded cars don't work for you, you work for them, and that's the truth.

bleh, well like i said....i could have a 1 inch drop and it would be ok...just nothing more...i dont want an overly harsh ride, i just want it to look better...not like its a 4X4...

i just wana improve a few things....like get an oem lip, drop a little, etc...nothing that will make it bad for work..im keeping 14s or 15s.

any other moderate mods u'd recommend for my situation then?

any better cheapish coilovers that would work stock shocks ok..at 1 inch drop?

should you choose to lower the car anyways, I guess I'd urge you to go with Eibach Pro springs. They're soft, will provide the drop you want, and won't destroy your shocks. I would stay away from coilover sleeves.

now... instead of doing a bunch of cheap mods, I recommend you take ALL the money you wanna put into it... and just do ONE worthwhile mod, something that won't take away from the driveability of the car. Naturally, I recommend full coilovers like Omnipower - they're affordable and will last way longer than any coilover/stock shock combo.

Ultimately, it's your car, you'll do with it whatever you want. I'm just telling you based on experience what I think the wise thing would be to do.

ok, see yeah the reason i want coilovers is so i dont have to uninstall them every winter...cause i dont want a drop in the winter...

so good a full system would work well...just depends how much they cost...and if i have the money at the time

would u recommend getting a high km car..since i can get a vtec engine dropped in next year, and then spend that saved money on new suspension? or just buy a low km stock ride?

the test drive reveals all... a low km car can be crap, and a high km car can drive like gold. esp with all the damn crooked Polish, you can't trust the odometer. personally, I don't mind high mileage cars, just make sure it wasn't in an accident.

keep on preachin!!!
I whole-heartedy agree with this statement.
Don't cheap out on suspension, b/c it'll just be money you will have to spend again to do it right.
