Mini Me Yes Or No?

I have a 1989 hond civic Si
d16a6 with jackson supercharger/headers/intake/Fuel Rail/Fuel Regulator/stage 3 clutch

Is it worth it to add Vtec?

I Have The d16y8 Head In Hand All I have to do is buy and gasket kit and rpm switch.

Opinions Please

Is It worth it??

I love the D16Y8.

I say yes if you already have the head. Don't you need the ecu as well?

At least change the intake manifold and tb right?

i would much rather spend that money on some management and dyno time. It will yield more power and more reliability out of your setup.

I say yes, the VTEC heads flow better to begin with, so with a supercharger, you'd see some decent gains, esp if you got a Crower cam for boost applications to reduce overlap.

nonvtec head can flow just as well as a vtec head on the d series. just read this thread. you have a d16a6, those motors are capable of making just as much power as the vtec motors. it's a differenty story on the b series though, vtec b series flow better than nonvtec b series.
