Mini-me in local stores

Hi all. Did a little bit of searchin and kinda decided on the setup I wanna get. Ive got an 03 civic lx on my hand so I wanna pump up the the d17 with a mini-me swap. Along with that Ill get a new sri, headers and exhaust, and that will pretty much be the end of engine upgrades...

Now I need to know if there are stores (or people) around that can do this kinda thing. Problem is I have no idea where to start to find these parts, ie getting a new head for the engine and new ECU etc. So I'd like a store that can get these for me...any ideas?

why go through all that trouble for a couple of more ponies? go with a cheap boost setup. www.homemadeturbo.com

^ leave your car alone. its gonna be hard to get more power out of your engine unless you use forced induction or swap

you can still turbo an auto. just run low boost, it'll be more than enough for the extra power you need on the streets.

being a car that new, I'd have to agree in leaving it alone. mini me setups and other engine work is best reserved for cars that actually need work in my opinion.

How would you even do a mini me on that D17? The LX and Si motors are basically the same aren't they minus the VTEC.

Hmmmm, so there is no engine performance enhancements I can get from this car? Without ofcourse spending LOADS on an engine swap and then working from there on....

Dangit, what would you suggest then?

you answered your question. You'll either need a swap or boost.

Personally.. I wouldn't boost it, since you can't convert to obd1 you'll have to cough up a lot of money for tuning. A boosting a car is just headaches anyways.

Mini-me swaps for all the money you spend, isn't really benefical. I wouldn't do a mini-me unless your head is garbage.

You could get a swap.. but then again, that is expensive.

Listen, I have the same car. Don't waste money on exhaust headers intake and all that crap. It will make your car slower. The D17A1 engine is not a tuner engine, its a 'leave me the **** alone' engine. However, it is great for boosting because of its low compression design, versus the Si of the same generation. Check out www.dezod.com for turbo parts, they boosted an Auto DX 2002.

sell it and get a different car that is easier to mod

ie sell is and buy an older 96-2000 civic then the extra money you have mod that car with
