mileage for civics

Hi, I might be buying a civic soon, i just like to know the milage a civic gets like from a full tank. thanks

yr, km, and the milages any help would be great

punkindrublic 27-Sep-2003 12:44 AM

depends on a lot of things... i used to get 650kms... but due to recent power upgrade i'm down to about 500kms per tank...

this is on a 288 000 kms d16z6 with 99 dx tranny...

StewPiddass 27-Sep-2003 01:07 AM

I've never gotten that much, you must be a much more responsible driver than me... and I don't even have VTEC!

punkindrublic 27-Sep-2003 01:18 AM

its all in the tranny... it revs so damn low all the time... with my old Si tranny i'd be reving well above 3000 going 120km/h.... now though i'm well under 3000....

imported_toyman29 27-Sep-2003 01:42 AM

yeah 500 a tank is crazy, especially for a 93

imported_BoOsTd 27-Sep-2003 07:37 AM

Im a 1997 dx coupe (d16y7 engine) 180,000km 40 liter tank I believe... I get 450 in town on a really bad tank (driving it hard) but highway km driveing the limit I average around 600km to a tank...

mix highway and in town im usually around 500-550 (which is probably my overall average fuel consumption)

My record milage was driveing to Ottawa once... fresh oil change, just finished a can of slick50 fuel system cleaner, drove the speed limit with 2 passengers, I got just over 700km to a tank!!! (this was also when my car was all stock) wish it was always like that lol, id be allot richer :p

crazyhatchback 27-Sep-2003 09:55 AM

in my 93 dx i get about 450 kms a tank

imported_Googoo 27-Sep-2003 01:57 PM

2003 LX 50l tank ...I go 650K before I even look at the gas gauge ... and that's around town(combination city highway)

Brent

imported_Cablerat 27-Sep-2003 04:37 PM

600+ ??? that's insane..

My old 93 SI would get about 500 or so on mostly highway driving.. My GF's CX doesn't get more than 500.. but then again she usually is driving well past 120..

I say average 5th gen civic is 450KM on normal driving regardless of highway or city.

imported_Cablerat 27-Sep-2003 04:37 PM

oh and remember its a 40 L tank!

yO 27-Sep-2003 04:46 PM

99 si 60k on it. I get about 450-500 a tank.

MyCivicSI 27-Sep-2003 05:08 PM

how come my 97 Si only get about 300 for a full tank ??

yO 27-Sep-2003 05:18 PM

You have a fat foot?

imported_L85 27-Sep-2003 05:41 PM

300 k?

that's too low man, trust me, i get like 380 from a full tank and my car is a v6.

you might want to get a tune up done.

MyCivicSI 27-Sep-2003 08:39 PM

but every 3 months i'll drive my car back to the dealer for schedule maintainence ... from yr 97 till now ...

yO 27-Sep-2003 08:45 PM

You must be driving it too hard. Let the dealer know about the milage.

punkindrublic 27-Sep-2003 08:45 PM

something isn't right about that.... 300 kms is way to low...

MyCivicSI 27-Sep-2003 09:12 PM

yea ... i need to tell them next time ... i never reach to 330 or higher NEVER

imported_cxtasy 27-Sep-2003 10:40 PM

Meh I've never hit anything over 340kms per tank, but I know thats mainly due to my driving.

I tried driving "normaly" and I got like 400 or so kms, not worth it for me, I might as well have fun driving.
