Mileage Issue

mileage issue

currently have a B18C5
meaning 1.8L
I filled in Gas this morning, filled $20
for 19 liters going approx. 200 KM on it
is it little?
without going pass 5000rpm, highway driving constantly

imported_SilverSleeper 13-Dec-2005 04:25 PM

Sounds like my car...But it's a y7

newman 13-Dec-2005 04:44 PM

I wish I got that mileage. Mines worse.

RDub99 13-Dec-2005 04:48 PM

I get about the same mileage.. 450/tank

kwikb16a2 13-Dec-2005 05:21 PM

10L/100km.....that is a little on the high side but it is cold outside. Im getting about 7L/100km highway. I still think its about normal for you

i always keep my revs under 3000, usually under 2500, except once in a while.

try to keep your revs low and only rip it a couple of times per tank

also, that mileage seems normal cuz its winter.

imported_egb18c 13-Dec-2005 05:49 PM

try some Lucas "Upper Cylinder Lubricant & Injector Cleaner" ... that stuff increased my fuel mileage (B18c) significantly

imported_My93Civic 14-Dec-2005 09:07 PM

I agree, winter time, mileage on all cars decrease.

civicnation 15-Dec-2005 10:45 AM

in winter 400-450 sounds pretty damn good. that is the range i get

imported_hdave 15-Dec-2005 11:41 AM

^ yep.
should be very happy with 400-450
i get 470-510 winter, 550-600 in summer.

imported_magicguy 15-Dec-2005 08:59 PM

just wondering why get less mileage in the winter tho? curious

kwikb16a2 16-Dec-2005 12:01 AM

it takes more fuel to achieve stoich (air/fuel) because of the cold air

imported_hdave 16-Dec-2005 11:27 AM

^ also because
people let their cars idle before driving off
gas companies have addatives in the gas in winter

imported_magicguy 16-Dec-2005 12:36 PM

i heard winter tires will affect the mileage also, is that correct?

yes sir, all these little things add up

imported_Moe_Mentum 16-Dec-2005 03:35 PM

that and if there is snow outside on the roads it will take more power to plow through it. I get about 10litres/100km as well so I guess your normally. I have a b16

imported_Jibran 17-Dec-2005 11:15 AM

Ok, i have a 90 Hatch si. At 100km/h, my car is hitting 3.2 rev. Is it ok? Plus its an automatic tranny.

imported_hdave 17-Dec-2005 12:14 PM

^ that seems to be okay
my friends old 99 ex was at 3000rpm at 100km/h

at 100km/h mine is at 2500rpm with an auto tranny

imported_pk_kk 18-Dec-2005 03:17 AM

imported_magicguy 18-Dec-2005 03:27 AM
