metal shavings in head?
well i was teaching my little brother how to portmatch manifolds on my d16z6 head, anyways he picked up a peace of cardboard that was covered in metal shavings and accidently spilt metal shavings all over my cam, valves and stuff, ive started buy getting as much as i could with a Q-tip but is there anything else i should do before i put it on my car? thanks
put them in a wash tank and clean them thoroughly.
did u try a magnet? that might pick up alot more than a Q-tip...

everyones ideas sound excellent i guess ill try them all just to be safe thanks alot for the ideas, i was thinking of soapy water but i wasnt sure if that would mess anything up?
i was wondering if the soapy water would hurt anything like the cam, rockers, or valves because i dont want to have to take it all apart? thanks and sorry to bother everyone again
well i hosed them off with warm soap and water and the head is really clean but it looks like there is a bit of rust forming on the valve springs? anyone no what i should do
Remove the valve springs, get some fine emmery paper and take the rust off. Before installing them, put on a thin layer of oil on the valve springs.
