Messed up suspension
Yesterday when it was slick outside I was going around a roundabout and lost control and the whole right side of my car went over an island. My steelie in the front was bent, its not losing air though, but the wheel is front passenger side wheel is odd.
I know for a fact my alignment is off because my car travels to the right as soon as i let go of the wheel. The other problem with that wheel is that Instead of it being centered under the wheel-well like how its supposed to be, its about 2 inches back.
So the wheel in the front passenger side of my car is almost touching the left part of the fender (the part close to the door) and there is a failrly large gap between the right side of the fender and the tire (where the front bumper is). The depth of the wheel is fine...its not pushed in or pulled out or anything.
Someone told me this could be a best control arm, others told me a ball joint, some guy even told me a cv boot(?). Anyone know what the problem could be, and how much it would cost to fix?
I'd take it to a shop but I dont know if the car is driveable or not. Do you think it safe to drive?
Thanks alot

sounds like you bent a control arm or 2. if you have to drive, drive carefully to a shop and get it looked at. it may cost you a bit, or you could try your luck at the junkyards and replace the bent parts yourself.

happens to the best of us
the exact thing happened to me the other night car kept swaying to the right as soon as i left off the wheel, i took it to speeedy got a free estimate and they told me i needed a new lower ball joint on my drivers side, as well as an upper ball joint and control arm for the passenger....was supposed to cost like $460 after labour...went to partsource in oshawa, got the parts for like $160 tax included...went home, my dad and I installed them both in around an hour and twenty minutes...

Yea your situation happen to my friend over the past weekend, I help him to change the drive shaft and control arm and after everything went perfect. he pay $150 for the control arm.
As far as if the car is safe to drive around, don't drive it too much try to bring it to a shop to fix it.

i also think its a contol arm, maybe even tie-rod. With the Ball joints ckeck for rips, but if your gonna buy a upper arm it comes with the ball joint. try napa there usully cheaper than CT. You might also want to check that tie-rod as well. Look for rips or grease. A broken ball joint or cv boot might have grease around the area and lead you to the rip if there is one
good luck
