MC Upgrade

Heard that by upgrading a stock Master Cylinder from another car, it can help performance.

I have a 1993 Honda Civic DX Hatchback.

I was wondering what Master Cylinder from which car would be the best to go with?

Which ones are easily bolt on and improve performance?

Example one from an Integra, Accord, Prelude from a specific generation, etc.

Thank you.

BTW: Do you think it would be a good idea to salvage a MC from a junk yard for cheap cheap?

to use an integra mc you must bend the lines to make it fit. i think the 91 civic EX bolts right up without any modifications. thats a 15/16 mc. the integras came with 15/16s too but the 98+ gsrs came with a 1" mc. i bought a mc for my dads accord at a scrap yard for 50 bucks and it works mint. most mcs go for 50 bucks anyways. as for the difference, it's huge. i've never stomped on my brakes all the way to the bottom with my 1" mc because as soon as i step on it too hard my brakes lock up. if i were to buy another civic, i'd definately upgrade the mc. the stock brake system doesnt stop at all man.

Thanks man, that really helps. Someone also told me the 91 EX has the 15/16 and fits without bending anything so maybe I'll go look for one of those.

Just wondering if the 91 EX is the only one that had it. I read all EX and Si models have that size, or no?

What about this 5th gen year? Do the top models have the 15/16" MC?
