Maintenance light on 7th gen?

Hi, my gf recently bought a 7th gen si and today she noticed the “maint req’d” light blinking when she started the car….then it goes off after about 15 seconds. Does any one know what some of the reasons for this can be? Im assuming there is nothing wrong with the engine because the engine light doesn’t come on…so what sort of maintenance might she need that this light would be warning her of?

Thanks

she'll either need to do an oil change or the person she bought it from forgot to reset the maintenance light when they did the oil changed

ask your gf if the previous owner did the oil change already...if not - then just do an oil change and the light will go off

Hold down the trip meter button, turn the car to on, wait about 20 seconds, start the car, and let go of the button. Light is reset until the next mileage interval.

the light is just a reminder . it had nothing to do with the condition of her car... it comes on certain milage intervals programmed by honda.

You'll find how to reset the light in your owner's manual, it involves holding down the trip meter and turning the car on as mentionned above.
