Lug nut compatiability

Lug nut compatiability
I was wondering if it is possible or even safe to use aftermarket lug nuts with OEM wheels. OEM lugs are the acorn style and most aftermarket lugs are conical shaped.
If not, I'm might just pick up a set of the OEM light-weight, open-ended, mad-pimp, JDM style Civic Hybrid ones or NSX lugs.

The reason I ask is that now that I have the Si wheels on my car, the "normal" EX lugs stick out very far. The correct Si lugs are about a 1/2" shorter and sit flush with the wheel. If I was going to spend money on new lugs, I figured I might as well get good ones.

So any kind of "acorn" lugs will do?
The OEM thread pitch is 12x1.5 right?
I've found that Gorilla makes acorn lugs in different finishes, closed and open-ended.
Oh, I spoted that nice CRX of your's at Joseph Brant the other day.

yeah, normally on other Hondas M12*1.5 is the correct one. dunno about yours, but I doubt it would change.
like a WRX would use the finer thread 1.25
yeah, any acorn nuts should do the trick. why don't you go for some lighweight lugs instead of gorillas?
