Some good info there. I've used it once or twice. Quiets the engine down if you haven't had a valve lash adjustment in a while. But, seriously, most (if not all) full synthetic oils have additives in them. Another is only going to cost you more money. Couldn't hurt to have more I guess, but why pay for additives twice? |
what is it that your looking to go for? car burning oil? loss of power? noisey?
i find lukas is awesome stabilizer and works great but i have also used bardahl and it works the same but is less for the price and quantity and is a thicker stabilizer helps alot with oil burning and valve noises. i currently have bardahl in my oil as it has high kms and is burning little oil and i have the lukas tranny stabilizer in the tranny. |
I woudn't go with it or recomend it.
There is a website dedicated to proving that the lucas transmission fluid oil puts more wear on transmission gearing then normal MTF. I'll try to digup the link, very intersting stuff. If you want to try to quiet down the motor, run a thicker viscosity oil. try 10W30 or 10W40...what oil are you running in the engine now? standard or synthetic? |
i see results with lucas when putting them in motors that burn oil...it's a good product, hence a  from me

My engine burns, I tried lucas and it only slows it down alil bit. It might give u an extra few hundred more kilometres.

Why not just invest in a good synthetic, instead of adding additional stuff to an oil that isn't doing what you want it to do?

Makes your engine run quieter, but because it thickens your oil...mileage will suffer a bit.

I'm not putting Lucas down, or any other brand, but it seems to me that buying an oil, and then buying something else which modifies the oil is a band-aid approach to a solution which could be readily had by getting the proper oil for the job in the first place?
