LS swap problems! PLEASE HELP!

hey...

I had an LS swap put in my civic a couple of months ago, and if ran like a charm. Running a little rich but it was all good. We were having some computer problems in the first week, but we had a chip programmed for us and it worked...BUT...

in the first couple of days/weeks my car never topped out. Lately it has been topping out at 190KMH! I would just move along, and then at 190KMH the car would just stop accelerating. We were first thinking it was the computer. But that didnt end up being the problem. My question is....could it be that the fuel pump (still from the D15Y8) is starving the injectors, therefore the car is not going, or could it be something else? PLEASE HELP!

Thanks.

Johan

fuel cutoff is 190-195... its a build in speed limiter in the ecu...Depending on the computer ie obd 0,1,2 im sure there is another chip to disable it, I dont really see the point tho cuz you shouldnt be going that fast anyway, unless your driving on a track of course...

but on the fuel pump note, a 255 holly/walboro never hurt anyone especially if you have future plans for the motor...

why the hell do you need to go faster than that.....I've gone 220 and it was pretty pointless...fairly fast I might add....but pointless

im with dingus, if you get caught going the fast it wont matter if yout have an LS swap because you wont be able to use it for awhile.

What kind of tranny are you using?

Take a look at your plugs and see how their wearing.
If you'r running rich, you can spoil the plugs in no time.

Bad or Dirty plugs from running rich will cause a "topping" out of power or ever a loss of power from what you first felt.

icic...well...sometimes we do highway runs, and then i need the speed, instead of topping out at 190KMH....ill have a look at the plugs....anything else that could be wrong....i got the stock LS tranny....

With an LS tranny and an ungoverned ECU, you should be able to hit 240km/h depending on the health of your motor.

Well first off all I don't recommend beating the crap outta of your swap as soon as you get it. You have to give everything a chance to work in a little bit.

Think of it as a break in period.

If you're gentle while you're breaking your motor in, it will last longer in the long run, and it will perform better.

with the swap....

Someone I know....

ya, hit 205 km/h with an LS swap in a 92 hatch, with the stock tiny winy exahust too. It wanted to go more too, but the 13" steelies with ancient cracking rubber tires scared that person into going any more.

By the Way, the ecu was not chipped, so I think it would have hit the rev limiter / cutoff soon anyways.
