Ls Swap

i just found a gen2 ls motor w/tranny...but the head was blown i found another gen2 lshead to go with it. i was just wondering if i need to machine the new head or could i just pop it on? thanks

this is a good time to slap a vtec head on it if your budget permits

no it doesnt plus i got the head for free...i would but i need to get the engine in quick plus my funds are limited

no you dont "have too do anything"!!!! you do "more" labour later.

AT MINIMUM

deck a head = $50-$75
good steel headgasket, 2-3 layer ones $45 & $11.99 for PERMATEX "copper" head spray
$15 CT - Fail Safe - winter thermo.
clean the eacv back manifold - $ 6 <--- use BRAKE KLEEN at least
breifly clean up exhaust ports on head with a fairly abrasive scoth-bite pad. <----dont PUST TOO HARD DOWN.

im sure im missing a few minor ones, but atleast that ^^^unless you want even more headache when you first start it up!
