Lowering: springs or coilovers

what should i do i'm stuck on what to buy
i know springs might be better but i would rather have the coilovers because in the winter i don't want a snow plow
and i don't want to swap springs
i want about a 2 in drop and i will have a CTR lip on the front
are the coilovers better
please help plus could u help me with the pro's and con's of both
thanks

sprins are more stable and there are the pros that they will have a better ride unless you are getting a true coilover set like tein's or apex-i dampers, etc other than that coilover sleeves can be trouble, the ring can corrode due to salt and the season of winter unless you keep them greased. But it all depends on which type you get and what shocks you have. Goodluck if you need some help feel free to contact me.

I decided to go with springs for the same reasons as geekracer, coilovers can give you really poor ride quality, ever seen those cars that bounce over everything? and unless you are willing to spend a bundle you'll get a much better spring for the same price as coilovers, depending on where you go, i dunno i had my car lowered last winter and i didn't have a problem, as long as you don't go out in the early morning before the snowplows get out......

DON't BUY COILS

U will hate them, I hate mine, it makes noises, I can't stand it, its not an even ride. GETTTT SPRINGS betteeerr in the long run. I will sell my coils if u want them though... they aren't ...bad..

well i used to be a real advocate of the coilover/shock combo. you know not just the sleeves but the ones that have the thread built right into them. but after mine seized up i gotta say coilovers are trash in Canada. not worth the money. just go with aftermarket springs and shocks and leave it at that.

btw, only the rear coilovers seize up. the fronts will be fine because they are more protected from the salt and dirt. so if you are really worried about snow plowing in the winter you can still get coilovers so you can adjust the front.
