Lowering Springs

Need some opinions here.
I am currently riding on H&R Race springs, which are about 2.5 inch drop. I want to change to something a little less aggressive. So far the springs I have looked at are the H&R Sport, or the Tein S.Tech Springs.
Can anyone comment on these if they have them on their car, or recommend any other lowering spring that is less then a 2 inch drop?

Thanks

I've been riding on H&R Sports for almost 3 years now and I couldn't be happier with them. They haven't sagged and they aren't too stiff or too low for a daily driver. They do have a bit of rust on the ends, but otherwise they are as good as new. H&R advertises a 1.75"f/1.5"r drop, but I think it's a little lower. In the snow they are fine except in the really deep stuff. Juts get some snows.

I can only comment on other springs, but I have heard that Eibach's will sag over time and that the Tein's aren't as low as advertised.

I would guestimate that more then half of the people on this board are using H&R springs. Try a search for more answers.

I like em, mind you i have them paired with illumina's. My car doesn't look as low as Mike's ^^^^ but its low enough for me. Great ride quality and amazing handling.

H&R Sports with KYB AGX shocks. The ride isn't too bad...you have to consider that a low profile tire (40 series in my case) will harshen the ride almost as much as the lowering springs.

And I agree with DumbasSi...I think it might be a tad lower than 1.75"F / 1.5" R, but the rear is definitely just a little higher (and I like it that way).

hey goldbadge, are those 17's?

imported_caloge 03-Oct-2004 02:56 AM

i got progress springs, they are supposeldy a 2 inch drop, but i thin its minortily less, im riding on 17's with a 205 tire and a 30mm offset, and i have no rpoblems unless i hit a unforseen pothole or speed bump

H&R Sport, Tein STECH, Neuspeed Sport, Eibach Sportline or ProKit, all great choices. What shocks are you using?

Forget Eibach (they start sagging overtime). I've used Tein S and H&R Sport. Tein S is the best IMO.

What you need is a set of adjustable coilover.

I've got a R1 Racing set on my car with KYB AGX shocks and I think there great. I can raise the car a bit in the winter and lower it in the summer.

Easily adjusted. Just jack up the car and take off the wheel.

The shocks I'm using is Tokico HP's. I don't want the adjustable coilover springs, I've heard to many bad things about them.
A friend of mine just put the Tein S springs on, and his car looks really dropped. I think I will try to find a set of Sports, they look like the best option right now.

do you notice any performance/handling increases with just a lowering spring upgrade?
