Lowering SPRINGS

Hi.
I wanna lower my 93 coupe on 16"s or 17"s
i don't want the ride to get bumpy at all. I want it to be very close to stock. Probably 1.25"drop....
I have no money for better shocks, so will be using stocks.

Would doing this improve the handeling at all? Or should I just leave the stock ones on, as I like the comfortable ride?

What springs do I use (Economical) and at what rate?
What do you guys think of TYPE_R springs? I know they give like 0.75" of drop. Does that help at all?

Thanks in advance for all the comments .
