Lowering Spring Drops?!?!?
ok guys here is tha DILLI-YO!
im looking for a set of springs with a wicked drop!
so far what i like and am kinda leaning towards is the Suspension Techniques........ i like sportlines but there not low enough!
i want at least 2.25" drop!
i dont want coilovers... b/c u rarely adjust them... so really no point... anyone know of any good ones????
and i mean good tuck! 1 finger gap or less.....

well your on the right track by choosing a spring but im hesitant to recomend you do a 2.25" drop.
Reasons why:
-your going to wreck a perfectly good set of OEM struts
-your gonna have a car that cant go anywhere (you will be parking an SIR "theifs / vandels dream" on streets all the time)
-your gonna hate scrapeing and beating the hell out of your beautiful SIR
-and im thinking the rides gonna be really bouncy with the OEM struts.
What I recomend if you want to drop it, is a set of neuspeed race springs or equivelent (i beleive its 1.8" drop) that will give you a nice fender gap and it wont be overly rediculous. Even with those you will be haveing abit of camber wear and and they will hurt the struts, and your gonna have allot of clearance issues.. Ask punk i think hes running those same springs...
Anyway thats just my opinion, wait and see what the others think

I really likes the Susp Tech when I was running them very early on... but given what we know now about susp geometry, I fail to comprehend why you'd want to take so much away from your wheel travel??

If you wanna get low... then get air rods. That's all I can say...

I scrape on ****** speedbumps with my car and it pisses the **** outta me so u'll see me drivin up and down parking rows to avoid speed bumps...and my car is on Eibach Sportlines...dumping a car that much makes it useless!

go 2 inch MAX . any car ive seen lower than 2 inches except neons cuz theyre high as hell are too low . so yah just go with sportlines or even Gold line springs are i think 2 inch drops .
HR i think only goes up to 1.7 inch max drop on any spring so whatever u choose is cool as long as u get better shocks and struts the whole suspension deal then u wont go breaking yur OEM parts .

hey guys thanks for the Tips.
ill tell you, when i had my 2002 civic, i had no finger gap at all, the back 18's were literally tucked, leaving only 1/8" from the fender well, it worked awesome. i sporting the GC coilovers.
awesome piece of work!
anyways..... i like Suspension Techniques. around my price range!
as for upgrades on the shocks.... ill probably end up with KYB GR2 or something like that.... but im not to worried about it... i just want the looks!
i know susp tech is at least 2" so it will do for now!
thanks for the tips..
Barbulo... holy man whats with the novel like writing on suspensions????

good luck with a horrible suspension setup choice
gr2's are stock replacement's they couldn't even handle a pro kit spring...you suspension will handle worse than stock..you will scrape and ruin the bottom and skirts of your car...your shocks will pop in a couple weeks it will bounce liek a *****...basically you will ruin your car..
you have to get outta the "mad vtec power...yoyo that sick ride is slammed yo" mantality
what you shoudl get h&r sports 1.5 or soem tein S tech's or neuspeed sports
but h& r's almost tucks the wheels on ek's..it's the best drop look wise clean and not to low and has a decent spring rate to it...pair that with some kyb agx's and your set with a sweet looking and handling setup and you will probobly not need a camber kit...
please dont' ruin your car...if you do it's jsut another sir gone down the tub's modifyed wrong

I dunno guys, I've been driving (and autocrossing) my EG on H&R Race for almost 6 years... I bet they're past 2.5" now with their age. Never had a problem, sure the car's low but It's never really bothered me. She tucks in the back and you couldn't get your pinky in the front...
