Lowering my car

Hey I have an 01 civic sedan, and this summer im planning on lowering it an inch or so. Im not too familiar with suspensions so i was hoping to get some advice. I was told that if i do lower my car i would need to get my shocks changed as well. This will prolly set me back around a grand. I was wondering if i just got Tein coilovers or
"S springs" or even adjustable ones,,would that be suffiecient enough? because i dont plan on racing it or driving it hard. Im basically getting it done for the look. Also i should prolly mention that i have 17 inch tires and rims, this will prolly effect how much i can lower it by and so on. Help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

you dont necessarily need shocks but its highly reccomended.

springs is the problem for you. the only two sedan sprigns for sedans currently are neuspeed sports for sedan and goldlines for sedan, and the drop on those two is much more than youre looking for. (1.75" and 2" respectively)

theres also some tokico blue and spring combo thats going on ebay that comes with shocks and springs that claim a 1" drop which might be a good idea.

tein s tech is the worst spring you can get for you sedan cuz those springs are known to sag excessively on sedans. tein basic coilovers and tein ss will be good.
